This is, literally, what the error says “The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration”.

It’s because you’re hosting on GoDaddy.

If there is one company NOT to host a WordPress-based website on, its GoDaddy. The horror stories I’ve heard about that company just make me shake my head and think “so happy that wasn’t me”.

Do yourself a huge favor and put in the hour of work it takes to switch to a REAL hosting provider like BlueHost (small sites), DreamHost (small sites), Media Temple (medium to large sites) or Rackspace (large sites) …before your site gets popular. I’ve been at this for fifteen years, building sites ranging from one-man blogs to massive online communities and these are the hosts *I* use. They are reliable, fast, and fix problems quickly.

    Thanks!

To be honest, a last couple of weeks I thought about moving to another server (slow server response, frequent downtimes) but hesitated a lot, now things get more clear.
After looking around, I found hostgator.com to be very affordable and acts quite professional. Now do you think it’ll do (when it comes to bpalbum+) ?

And one more question, I know it’s not especially BP album related but just for the record, I gotta ask. Is moving buddypress and bp-album+ the same procedure as moving any other WP plugin? Or do I have to look out for certain things?
    Thanks in advance!

Do not use BlueHost (HostMonster), they throttle your bandwidth on any BP site no matter how small (even without user blogs). I have had several techs from there tell me they are not capable or running a BP on their shared servers (which they all are). They are great for just a WP site but BP uses too much php.

You are going to run into issues with any shared server when you get any real traffic.

If you want to do it right and are in it for the long term I recommend Rackspace Cloud Sites ($150):

I don’t know enough about Media Temple to provide an opinion.

Well, I’m trying to keep the discussion on track here, but sure, I meant BlueHost for small sites. Every host has their target market.

Basically, social networking sites are resource-intensive applications. If you’re planning on running a busy social networking site, count on at *least* $150 a month in server costs, more realistically around $350 a month for a dedicated server, and if it really takes off, you could be looking at thousands of dollars a month in hosting costs. FaceBook has what 35,000+ servers now?

But hey, if you ever *do* get that big, BP Album+ has you covered.

We’ve put a lot of work into making sure you can serve content from large CDN’s like Amazon Cloudfront http://aws.amazon.com/cloudfront/ …If you’re thinking of setting up a site with that kind of traffic, contact us …we’ll be happy to help.

    Thanks!
