getting replies to a topic you commented on supersedes your email digest setting. I think. So if you are set to any weekly or daily digest, then you get involved in a conversation, you’ll get the emails immediately. The follow/mute buttons should change for this, but in some cases they don’t. Its tricky to know what to set these to, because you are kind of following things when on digest, but not fully.
try your testing again and let me know if there is still a problem. Also, there is a setting in the users notifications setting that is global setting (not per group) which determines if they get this instant email for topics replied to or topics started.
Thank you for your reply, @dwenaus
I haven’t noticed this reply, sorry. Thus, I have just started some tests to see if the function works as expected.
It may take some time for me to get results, so please wait, thank you.
@dwenaus
As I have just updated the plugin to 2.7.3, I will once again verified this matter and report if it works as expected or not soon.
Hi @dwenaus
I have just tested on the version 2.7.3.
The problem still exists. When I logged in as administrator, and set “Weekly Digest” for a group.
Though I wrote to the group forum, no email came.
Is this because I logged in as Administrator, or, the plugin’s bug?
you need to have two separate users, and open two browsers with each user signed into each one. one user needs to be signed up as the digest, the other then posts – in this setting you can test. also, use the ?sum=1 url add on to see the digest queue.
@dwenaus
I should have explained more in detail.
Yes, I have already made two separate accounts for me: one is Admin and the other is a user.
The problem is:
Admin subscribed to Weekly Digest, and the user Daily Digest.
In this situation, the user gets an immediate email when Admin posts to the thread which the user began or the user added the comment to.
However, Admin never gets the email when the user adds comments to Admin’s thread.
If Admin suscribes to “Daily Digest”, “New Topics Email” or “All Email”, getting an immediate email.
The user faces the same problem. If the user subscribes to “Weekly Digest”, gets no immediate emails.
I have used “?sum=1″ since the previous version, and it has been working properly.
No immediate email is the only problem I have been facing so far…
thanks for the clarification, I’ll test it out and see what happens. It may take some time though.
ha – i mentioned it would take some time. how about 3 months! it’s fixed in version 2.8.
