Link to Main Directory on Search Pages

When searching for a member, there is no modification to the page address (i.e. mysite.com/members). Is there any way to modify that and have something like mysite.com/members/s=x?
Can anyone think of other alternatives? Right now I have just a link that points to the main directory <a href="”>Main Directory, but that link has to be present when you are at the main directory… I wish it could only come after entering a search query.
