Log In and Log Off button/pages for buddypress bring a 404 page not found error ?

    @droogs

    I have recently installed buddypress 1.26 on wp 3.01 and I have managed to iron out all the “error 404 – nothing found, the page you are looking for could not be found” errors except for the “Log In” and “Log Out” pages. Sign up works fine, but once they try to log in, or log out from the bp toolbar it brings the error
    I tried adding a link into the links section on wp, that seemed to solve the other 404′s but it’s not working for this, or i just don’t know the correct pathway

    Can anyone help ?

    I feel your pain. Did you ever figure it out, Droogs? I see you’ve gotten no reply and I have the same situation. Installed BuddyPress v1.2.6 into WordPress v3.0.1. It used to 404 when logging out and logging in. But now my log out seems fine. But when I attempt to login I get a 404 error. It seems that the Login link cannot find the login location. Doesn’t seem to recognize the wordpress directory where my site is installed. Anyone know how to fix? Thanks.

    I ended up just making my own logout

    if (isset($_SERVER)) {
    $cookies = explode(‘;’, $_SERVER);
    foreach($cookies as $cookie) {
    $parts = explode(‘=’, $cookie);
    $name = trim($parts[0]);
    setcookie($name, ”, time()-1000);
    setcookie($name, ”, time()-1000, ‘/’);
    }
    }
    header(‘Location: http://www.mysite.com/‘);

    This destroyed all cookies and effectively logged the user out – that odd 404 error was never solved, but this is a useful workaround
