login/create an account problem

  • on my homepage, when i log in, the username/password box just remains doesnt show that im logged in, even though i am. also, the create a new account link is still there, once im logged in, and when i click it, it just stays on the home page. if i am not logged in, i can create a new account so thats working. when i go to the members or any other tab, it shows im logged in, just not on the homepage. any idea why? ive tried messing with options, etc with no solution. i only have the buddypress plugin installed, nothing else as ive disabled them trying to solve this.

  • What theme are you using? Is there anything in your web server error log?

i am using the default buddypress theme (

i am not seeing any type of error, it just doesnt seem to want to work right. try logging into my page with username and password both as: test

Something’s wrong because the admin bar is not showing up at the top of the screen either.

i actually checked the option to make the admin bar invisible unless you are logged in. if you login using the username: test and password: test, you will see the admin bar.

ended up reinstalling wordpress and buddypress. not sure what the problem was but its working now.
