Maximum pm's with statusbar?

    Hello,

    current user can write an infinite number of pm’s. Not so good for the db and a smooth system (think on future B-). For example everyone can have 100 messages in the inbox and this appendix provides a display. If the mailbox is full he must delete old messages (or save them (csv…)).

    Is this an upcoming function?

    Is this an upcoming function? I don’t know, give me a time machine and I’ll find out.

    In the interim, make an enhancement ticket on https://trac.buddypress.org/ with the same username and password that you use for this site.

    I’ve submitted an enhancement ticket for BuddyPress version 2,389, 493.1 beta. Time Machine please! Must be capable or bi-directional time travel. Come on guys… every other CMS has one.

    LOL…. I am not a programmer, but I would think it is not that difficult to program such a feature.

    I would go a bit further about this feature:

    I would not want my users to save their mails as .csv-files (or whatever format) as the users anyway do not know how to do this….

    In order to monetize on the website, I would rather give my users 100 free mails storage (or whatever MB-equivalent).

    Having more than 100 mails (or whatever MB-amount), they would either have to pay a service-fee or delete their mails.

    Well, somehow website-owners need to make a few bucks after all……

    I do know a social-network in Europe with over a million users and that is how their business-model works……

    Give users free stuff, but charge them when they are using services above a certain limit.

    Easy or not…ask not me for programming this feature ;-) bp is for free, for this its really good! There must always be anything to improve.

    schade, dass du meinen vorschlag nicht in dein TRAC-ticket mitaufgenommen hast….

    nein, ich meine http://www.grono.net , aber diese wirst du sicher noch nicht kennen ;-)

    Naja eine Premium Funktion wäre dann die Steigerung von einer max pm….zuerst sollte also diese realisiert sein.

    Premium pm is the next level of max pm….first maximum pm function, than an premium of this…? :)

    Grono kenn ich nicht, der Sprache bin ich nicht mächtig ^^
