Messages Notifications Redirects to Membership Level Page

We have been asking everywhere we can think of for help – but so far no one has answers. We have a site running on BuddyPress using the SweetDate theme. Any time a NON admin tries to access their messages it takes them to the membership level pricing page as part of the Paid Membership Pro.
Basically it is set so that if they don’t have the top level of membership it will take them to that page in order to upgrade their membership – however these people have the TOP level of membership that includes the private messaging feature.
We can not figure out what is going on and why it will not allow them to access the messages. Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be going on and why no matter who clicks to go to messages it redirects them to the membership page?
