Moving group status updates

    Virtual pat on the back for the first person who can help me move status updates posted within in a group. 🙂

    I recently began changing my site’s conceptual architecture. An important part of this is setting up new groups and putting down the old groups. With that said, I don’t want to lose the posts and data within those groups. Now, I found a plugin that lets me successfully move the forums. I also found another plugin that successfully lets me move group members.

    The question that remainsi is how do I move the status updates posted within these groups. I have a few to move, so I am hung up on this until I get this figured out. Be the first to win a genuine virtual pat on the back by me.

    status updates (notices) are stored in the bp-activities table.

    I don’t know how you can really move them from a group to another, tables relations are a bit complex.

    You have t ostudie the activites table structure and inspire you from the 2 two plugins who helped you to migrate somehow.

    Never used the groups feature but wouldn’t changing the group name be an easier option? Sorry if that didn’t help. Just a thought.

    Let’s keep trying gang. There’s got to be a hack somewhere. The renaming is an option for two groups, but the problem is that I need to consolidate a bunch of groups into one, so that won’t work for the majority of my groups. 🙁

    Let’s keep at it. I’ll be looking at the tables to see if we can do something about that (saving that for my rock’n engineer)
