New Mobile Home – Blank (edit: figured it out)

  • I recently updated the plugin and before, the homescreen had my wordpress posts. Now the page is blank except for the header/menu up top and the “view non-mobile site” link on the bottom. Can you tell me what it is I need to edit?

    *EDIT*
I had to read the homepage to figure it out.

“How to create a custom mobile homepage.

Create a page in the WordPress admin titled bp-mobile. The mobile theme will use this page.”

Just go to WordPress admin and click “add new page” and title it simply “bp-mobile”. Anything you add in that page will be shown as the front page. That’s what I did. I don’t know if “bp-mobile” is the actual default front page that Buddypress Mobile is now using.

Share with the group – I’ve got the same problem and I’d love to benefit from your experience :)

    I’m also confused about this.

From looking at the theme it seems index.php is supposed to show a list of posts as the home page, and the bp-mobile approach is there if you want to create a custom home page.

I don’t want to create a custom home page, I just want the default theme to work. But it doesn’t: I get a top menu which only shows a ‘Profile’ option when logged in, the ‘View non-mobile site’ option at the bottom, and the rest of the screen is blank.

If it makes any difference, I’ve upgraded from Buddypress 1.2.9 and Buddypress Mobile 1.0.5 to Buddypress 1.5 and Buddypress Mobile 1.5.2.1 (all on WordPress 3.2.1).

Edit: I’ve posted this as a new topic here as I think the thread title on this may discourage people from looking at it in the first place:

There will be options soon to have other front pages. For now it’s a custom page. If you want blog posts delete the file home.php in the plugins theme folder.

You only have a profile link in menu because you have to set up a Mobile Menu in appearance -> menus
