Trying to install BuddyPress on a WP 3.1.2 platform.

When installing via the Plugin interface or uploading via FTP, the BuddyPress plugin is not listed with the other plugins. And when using the Plugin interface, clicking the provided “Activate Plugin” link yields the following:

“The plugin does not have a valid header.”

I’ve tried deactivating other plugins before installing BuddyPress… same result. Please help if you can. Thanks in advance.

Try deleting the plugin and downloading it again. Something probably has been corrupted.

I just tried scrubbing the remote folder of buddypress, and reuploading a fresh folder from my Dropbox. The plugin doesn’t show up under the list of those available to the WordPress installation.

Are you running multisite? If so, it’s under the Network Admin pages.

No, it’s a single site install. Version 3.1.2, now all other plugins and themes are disabled. Still no sign of BuddyPress.
