Please read this! Tweetstream version 2.0 coming!
-
Hi there all.
Lately i wondered what to do to get tweetstream stable.
I realized with the code and library i am using now it just wont get stable. So i am building it from scratch with some new functionality.
Still the problem of supporting this plugin exists, i need to find a better way to support it.
(like a single issues list or bug reporting system)Any ideas are welcome.
Ik will remove all topics to get a clean start for tweetstream 2.0.This week i am going to pick up the coding again.

I’m so glad to hear this. I hope this applies for Facestream as well?
I would recommend using Kickstarter to help fund your project. It’s the same funding site that the Diaspora team is using. It’s really convenient that way too because people can see how close you are to your funding goal, and I’d be willing to help chip in some.
Hallelujah!!! This can’t come soon enough

Authorisation part new style complte hope that it wil resolve all those empty urls.
Now i am going to get on the posting updates part
Yes I would be very interested in being informed of this as well… and hopefully a new facestream that will work also.
The concept you have is a great idea, sometimes the execution is the hard part.
Thanks for all your time.
facestream will be updated when the tweetstream 2.0 is released.
Plans for a all in one plugin including new services are in de brainstorm tank and will be replacing tweetstream and facestream arround version 2.5Hi, I have noticed some of the issues, line 449 when collecting updates and also the inlaying of the tweet to the RRS feed causes some issue. -problem around CDdata tag as far as I could gather.
If you are making facestream, how about Flickrstream?
Perhaps, trying to make things easy for the user is making things that little bit more hard for intergration and stablitiy?
Would or could it be more easy to have the set up made in the custom profile feilds and also to have tweet, face and flickr feeds as tabbed parts of the users profile rather than in the activity stream?
Also, if you have sync as one option, and get as another, you could find that the users RSS to feed information to the users profile.
adding the upload feed could be done on the backend seperate to the download? These are just my ideas, but I could be wrong..
Looking forward to it!
Can`t wait for Facestream + Tweetstream get together.
Another great option would be to integrate Facebook Connect and Sign-in with Twitter too.
If you have all this functions in one plugin it would be just great.Tnxs for the reactions, i am possible to tweet with the new library now! so progress i very good!!!
Facebook stuff i am not worried about because it uses the same library.Flickstream is a good idea it should be possible to with the new library but first going to round up the code for tweetstream and facestream, after that i will look into flicker.
Looking forward to this…anxiously.
Good stuff Peter. Do you have a sense as to when 2.0 will be out?
No idea when it will be out, i want to do it better this time.
The progress is going fast, need to fix the import for tweets and then it need some styling, translation etc…
Lots of work to be done. There will be a big suprise to and i want to relaunch it bigtime!
I’m excited about it.

Can’t wait too! I need it! (and I can give a hand in case)
@timothe What all do you code in?
What do you mean?
@timothe Oh, maybe I misunderstood. I thought you were offering to help Peter code the plugin.
Just an update, I’ve been working close with Peter now for a couple of weeks (since we re-connected). The new integration of this plugin is going to be “huge”, bugs corrected, and out soon… It will contain some awesome enhancements and new features.
I’ve donated quite a bit of time and money to this plugin and we are looking for others to “step up” and help kickstart/support this important project with a donation… There always seems to be a lot of “talk” about supporting the “devs” here on BuddyPress, but not a lot of action… here’s your chance!

If you are interested in helping to support Peter with this plugin, please let him know by donating directly to this new plugin here via his old plugin donate link: http://buddypress.org/community/groups/tweetstream/donate/
People that donate to this plugin will be recognized in the very near future on the new plugin and support site (not released yet).
The plugin will remain GPL, but your support is needed (not unlike a number of the other great plugins on the site here). I’m hoping that Peter will be able to reveal some of the new exciting things about this plugin early next week and make an announcement here on BuddyPress.
@pisanojm Thanks for the update. I’m glad that you’re helping to underwrite this great plugin. I’ll be sending a donation your way next week, I just have to transfer some Paypal funds around.
Agreed – I donated to Peter a while back (and way more than $10-20) and I encourage you all to do so as well!
@paulhastings0 Indeed! I can’t really help on Twitter part but maybe on the overall process, even translating or something.
@Pisanojm Great news! Can’t wait to see that!
