Problem uploading Audio/Video files with 0.1.9.2010-06-22

I cannot upload anything but pictures with the latest nightly build.
Whenever I try to upload any media other than a photo, one of two problems occur:
1. The browser uploader gives the error “Unable to open uploaded file. This content type is not supported.”
2. The flash uploader appears to upload the file, but then shows a blank box (and no file is actually uploaded).Again, I’m using the latest nightly build. The same problem occurs on both WP 2.9 and 3.0. I’ve double-checked that the “Local Audio” and “Local Video” options are enabled under Plugin Settings. I also tried dropping the DB tables and doing a fresh install, which didn’t help.
Any help on resolving this would be greatly appreciated as the latest version of your great plugin would be ideal if it could handle audio files.

It’s going to be quite some time before you’ll be able to upload audio and video files into BP Album+.The reason is, setting up streaming audio and video files on a website is a very complicated process that honestly, 99.9% of users aren’t smart enough to handle. I mean, you have to *compile* and install ffmpeg http://www.ffmpeg.org/download.html and set up a keyframe injector and meta tag injector, and a ton of other things. And we can’t pre-compile it for you because it binds to different libraries on your server.
While some plugins let you upload audio and video files, they just treat them as file. You click on the “video” and it pops up a download link. It doesn’t actually play the file. Or it writes it to the user’s hard drive, then plays it… so they have to wait 10 minutes while it downloads.
When we implement this stuff, we’ll do it properly. But we have to figure out how to make it user friendly first.
