If you’re upgrading to BuddyPress1.1 from a previous 1.0.x version, it is SUPER important to remember to delete, rename, or otherwise remove the wp-content/bp-themes folder from your installation. Not doing so will result in having what ends up as a half installed theme, with some files trying to deprecate to the old theme, and others looking in the new.

    — Upgrading from an earlier version: —

    1. Backup!

    2. Overwrite the /plugins/buddypress/ directory with the latest version.

    3. If you are using the default theme, move the themes in “/buddypress/bp-themes/” to “wp-content/themes”

    and overwrite the existing ones.

    4. IMPORTANT: If you are no longer using the old two-theme system from BuddyPress 1.0, please make sure to delete your wp-content/bp-themes/ folder to activate the new one-theme setup.

buddyin, this thread is not the proper place to discuss bugs. Please make a new thread and provide info as per http://buddypress.org/forums/topic/when-asking-for-support.

Multiple posts don’t help you, either.

    Hi JJJ,

I’m getting this issue under 1.2, using a child of the Buddymatic theme (not built for 1.2). I’m guessing it’s a matter of upgrading the theme for the new version… Will this function the same way an upgrade to 1.1 went, with replacing files with the new ones? If so, would you be able to give me a hint as to which files might need to be replaced, and which theme (default, classic, parent) I should be copying from?

    Hope this is clear. Thanks!
