Register and login

  • It seems like reading through here there is a constant problem with register and login with bp. Frustrating still, is there seems to be no reply or real answer here. Sad for an actually good wp plugin. I deactivated and deleted bp and wp works fine again in this regard. With bp no member login works, register page does not work, no email verification sent, etc. And the subject is not solved anywhere on this site. The only person who was kind enough to relpy to my thread said everything was working. I tried it on three different computers (which really shouldn’t make a difference logically), and unfortunately the issue remained.

    I would think that with so many downloads and satisfied users, the solution would be easier? Of course we are getting great stuff for free, but something this good needs more support, so that we can support and recommend it in return which helps all of us involved in the long run. Thanks!

  • here’S the trick…..deactivate and delete. reinstall and thats it! :)

    Well as you have pointed out this is, like WP, an open source piece of work free to download and run, so sadly expecting any level of support is simply out of the question, what support there is, as you’re well aware, is free and provided by a voluntary group of users who have managed through using the software to gain a degree of knowledge and understanding which they attempt to use to help others out with.

    I’m not sure if you asked a more detailed question elsewhere about your issue but based on this one it would be next to impossible to help you as you simply do not provide any technical detail on the issue that we would be able to use to start to figure out what may be the issue and provide feedback and help.

    You might counter with the fact that as a newbie, technically unskilled, you are not sure how to provide this info but that is something that just has to be learned. There are posts describing what detail to supply in a thread which at least give us something to go on.

    Your last comment about a need for more support may be true and that is where YOU come in! give back to the community help out on the forum as you learn and gain knowledge from using BP/WP, this is how tech forums survive and thrive YOU are the help!

    I have an issue with the verification email… users don’t recieve it… shall i activate anything?

    Why have you posted on the back of a another thread? Did nothing in what I mentioned above about asking detailed questions, supplying a little bit of background information on your situation / setup make sense?

    Please do as is expected, if you really need help, post a new thread rather than piggy back of another only possibly related post, supply detail so that we do not have to start of by asking you questions that shouldn’t be necessary.

    Closing this thread.
