Remove Achievement Link from Menue Bar?

  • Is it possible to remove he Achievements Link from the Menue Bar? I think it is enough when it appears in the profile and in the admin bar…

    I’m wondering this, too. Love the plugin but would like the link out of my main navigation bar. :)

    No reply from the Developer?

    @Moominmama & @tolden Add this to your functions.php / that should be right…i think!

    remove_action( ‘bp_nav_items’, ‘dpa_add_to_site_nav’ );

    Thank you for your reply, but that does not work…

    No one of the others maybe the author an idea? It makes no sense in my eyes with that link and makes it unsuable…

    The author’s been extremely busy, sorry for the slow reply.

    Nahum’s correct, though. If you put this into your theme’s functions.php, it should work:

    remove_action( 'bp_nav_items', 'dpa_add_to_site_nav' );

    I’ve just tried and it works for me.

    Sorry to bring back such an old topic, but my question is related to this thread.

    What if, instead of removing the achievements link from the navigation, I wanted to add it to a drop down. For example, I have a list of pages under “fun stuff” and would like the link to the achievements to appear in this drop down since achievements are, well, fun :)

    Also, I wanted to say that you’re amazing on these Forums Paul. Rarely do you see plugin developers so helpful. So, thanks!

    Thanks, jd! I was travelling down to New Zealand when you posted, so sorry for delay in responding.

    When you say menus — are we walking menus in WordPress’ admin, or something else? If the former, it should be easy just to add a direct link?

    No problem on the delay, Paul. I’ve been busy myself, so I’ve been slow to respond.

    I’m not a wordpress wizard by any means, so please excuse my ineptitude. I was talking about displaying a link on the front end, not the wp-admin. I think your answer helped, I wasn’t sure if I could link directly to the achievements, but now that I look at it a little more fresh, I see it should be easy to do.

    Thanks for the help!

    Sorry to revive an old thread but I was just trying this by adding:

    `remove_action( ‘bp_nav_items’, ‘dpa_add_to_site_nav’ );` to the top of my theme’s functions.php file and this didn’t help.

    Has there been any changes that would make that code not work?

    Nevermind – I figured out a work around:

    Added this to my theme’s style.ss

    `#achievements-personal-li {
    display:none;
    }`

    functions.php is probably too late. You could try putting it into a custom plugin (or a file in mu-plugins), or perhaps a bp-custom.php file (http://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/bp-custom-php/)

    It worked adding them to either bp-functions.php or function.php of the buddypress community theme.

    Insert the following into your functions.php theme file.

    remove_action( 'bp_setup_nav', 'dpa_setup_nav' );
