Hey, I’m new to the whole wordpress thing and I’d LOVE to be able to use social grid (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/socialgrid/screenshots/) with buddypress… does anyone know if there is a plugin similar to this that will work on buddypress? Here is what I want: any user who has a profile should have the option to enter their SM links into the xprofile field and have them displayed as icons (facebook, twitter, etc,) on their public profile page. I am new but VERY willing to learn. I just need a little help getting started. :)

    Thank you in advance!

You might want to try this plugin that is currently in development:

That is pretty much EXACTLY what I’m looking for but the icons aren’t displaying. :(

I got it to work by going into the existing profiles and refreshing the data…

I get only one profile field, not one per field as I thought I’d get (one for Facebook, one for Twitter, etc)

abysshorror – you need to go into profile fields and edit each social media field. associate the given field with the corresponding site in the drop down list.

I can’t get any of the icons (I have 5 icons currently) other than facebook to be clickable.

Here is what I am showing on firebug:

Just in case anyone is interested, I ended up changing the callbacks in site-data to mimic the facebook one. all is good. :)
