Hi,
I’ve successfully installed wordpress and buddypress but the Forum tab doesn’t appear.
When i go into PAGES and remove the wordpress/buddypress association (as advised in the installation guide) the tab does appear but topics don’t appear in the forum section.

Can anyone please advise what i’m doing wrong?

Sounds like you chose the Sitewide Forums. Add this shortcode to the Forums page
`[bbp-forum-index] `
or choose another or combination of shortcodes per http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-20-shortcodes
