[resolved] IE8 inline dropdown not working

    In IE8 when I click on the activity box, the box enlarges and the Post In: [dropdown] appears and the Post Update button. But when I type @name, these two items drop down and cannot be seen and I can’t see anything but the top text on your autosuggest feature.

    It seems like the content past `

    ` is not getting pushed down like it is in firefox.

    Any ideas what might be causing this or what to look at to try to fix it?

    I’m not an expert on IE8 quirks, but I suggest you use IE8′s Dev Tools to try to find out what’s happening to the missing objects. Is the content (results) in the DOM? Are they “behind” another element? Need to try to find out if it’s a problem with your site or just Labs.

    I wouldn’t have tested Labs on IE8, so it may well be the latter.

    Thank you very much for pointing me to IE8 Dev Tools. They were very helpful in reminding me that I had earlier edited my theme’s header file to force IE7 to fix another issue I was having with a strange IE8 behavior on the menus. When I removed this from the header, the issues went away. So sorry for raising this non-issue, thank you for the help and advice.
