Gradebook has private and public comments.
Public comments idea was to use those for this kind of things like you described above. But I didn’t enable them in the PM when the grade is added.
Probably I should do that now.
Meanwhile, forums imho is the best option.
Where would I find info on the code changes to enable the public comments in the PM?
I don’t know if this is a possibility, but is there a way to get the public responses to post somewhere for all to read? Maybe, in the attached assignment forum? Just curious.
It will be available in the next version.
HAPPY DANCE…..
Stas, you cannot even imagine how awesome this plugin is. Sounds trite, but I am growing such a nice little online learning community
I love watching people interact with one another, read the lectures, watch the lectures, listen, answer the quizzes, etc.
The only BAD thing is that people are on my site so much longer now that I’ve had to upgrade my service to accommodate the load. Not so bad, eh?
I don’t know if you’ve considered it as a feature, maybe it’s already IN there, but I have been giving gold stars to students once in a while, just posting an image in with my comments, as well as blue ribbons once in a while. They LOVE it, it’s just another little way to give feedback.

AMAZING plugin!!! OMG it’s been just wonderful!! Thanks for creating it and I can’t wait for the update.
Not sure if this will be included in the update, but is there a way to turn off the public comment links on an assignment? I noticed there are links under “latest responses” to what looks like the automatically generated comment by the plugin publishing their test results.
Example: I had a mock student account finish a quiz and public and private comments were automatically generated. Then a link was posted under latest responses. Then I had another mock student account click on that link and it gets the following message, “BuddyPress Courseware Error while forbidden user tried to access a private response.”
Why are these links even available options if people are forbidden to view them? Or am I doing something wrong? I really don’t want people to see that one student has completed an assignment. I think public comments should be left for the forums. However, I see above how people like this feature. Can we just provide a way to turn the public comments on or off for assignments or classes? Thank you!
