Russian translation / localisation

Hello, I am a newby here, but don’t blame all on me, if it was discussed already — the integrated search is far from perfect. Is there a russian translation of Buddypress? I already have a localised version of WP installed and BP above is not. How to have it localised? I will do it in any case, but if there is a standard way and a possibility to give results to others, I will gladly share. I simply have no idea how to do it and the search… oh, you get it.

Oh, that became much simpler since I last used poedit. Thank you so much, I will offer my input within several days.

Incidentally, I finished the translation, but it is in developing mode. No problem, though, I can use it on my own, I just need to understand, what to do: download a .mo file, rename it to something and place in bp-languages? What name should it have to work?
