Sitewide forum working, but no page exists called ‘forums’.
I’m wanting to use the WordPress Access Control plugin to toggle whether the forums button appears in the menu depending on if the user is logged in. To do this, I should simply go into the ‘Forums’ page settings and select for it to only show for logged in users, as per the plugin.
Now this is where things are a bit peculiar. My sitewide forums are working fine (I can navigate to and use http://www.domain.com/forums), but I don’t have a ‘Forums’ page defined in BP pages. Furthermore, the page just doesn’t exist according to the WP backend. And as it doesn’t exist, I can’t manipulate the menu item to display only when logged in like a page I just created, ‘About Us’ for example.
I know the hard coded solution to this is fairly straight forward, but as it works for other pages already, the plugin route keeps things as easy to change as possible.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that I will be restricting the page access using the BuddyPress Private Community plugin and not simply removing the menu item for unregistered users.
So there you have it. Does anyone have any idea as to how I can retrieve (and by all accounts create for the first time) my ‘Forums’ page?
