    Great Plugin! Great Idea!

    But what I need for my website is not just a scrolling bar of activity, I need just the latest activity to stay there.

    1. Would it be possible to have the bar appear (ajax) when the latest activity arrives? Like facebook

    @gunju2221 Well if you just want the very last activity to stay there, you could change the rotation time to a really high number.

    On getting new activity to display as it comes … not sure off hand. But I’ll look into it later.

    Yes, those are good ideas…

    Does this work for blog comments?

    @xberserker, wouldn’t it make more sense to change:

    ` ` to:

    ` ` ?

    @gunju2221 Yes, duh, lol. Forgot about that momentarily. That would work.

    @luvs123 Sure if they show up in your regular buddypress activity feed.

    hi all,

    does anyone face issues with footer, or it’s only me?
    I mean, activity bar goes on top of footer. tried to add some margins to BP footer css, but somehow footer is sticked to the bottom and do not want to go up. probably this question is more to BP not plugin.

    thanks.

    @janismo Yes, it’s meant to stay at the bottom of the page and not move. What’s your site URL maybe we can adjust your issue.

    ok, I see, probably had to clear catch. simply added bottom padding to body css.

    @janismo

    width of my site is 90%, tried to change width of activity bar to 90% too.
    changed .footeractivity in bp_activity_bar.css to:

    .footeractivity {
    background-color: #000;
    height:30px;
    padding-bottom:4px;
    padding-left:7px;
    width:90%;
    position:fixed;
    margin: 0 auto;
    bottom:0px;
    z-index:9999;
    }

    in IE works excellent, but in Chrome left side is ok, but right is appr. 30px shorter than site body.

    any help please?

    thanks.

    Giving a link to your site would be excellent for visual support for your issue..

    yeah, I understand, but, as mentioned before, at the moment site is on local host only. actually, question here could be, that after changing width of bar to 90% it works good for IE, but in Chrome it become shorter.

    Edit______________________
    while I’ve been writing this post, I understood where a problem can be. Thought to write that I’m php idiot, but now I’m definitely one level up :)

    Default bp adminbar has #wp-admin-bar and #wp-admin-bar .padder, padder has same min and max width as site body, what means that, when you change % width of padder, adminbar becomes shorter on the same % as body would be.

    All you have to do is to add min and max width of your body to your .footeractivity and now % of activity bar will look like same % of the site’s body.

    thanks for great plugin again!

    not a poblem @xberserker

    .footeractivity {
    background-color: #000;
    height:30px;
    padding-bottom:4px;
    padding-left:0px;
    width:90%;
    position:fixed;
    margin: 0 auto;
    bottom:0px;
    z-index:9999;
    min-width: 960px;
    max-width: 1250px;
    }

    I removed transparency, but at all it should work for BP default.
    padding-left:0px, because otherwise it pushes bar a bit farther than body border is.

    This is awesome, great work.

    Would be perfect for my needs if:

    - Only visible to logged in members
    - I could place the bar at the top of the page instead of the bottom.
    - User could enable/disable the bar with a little open/close or toggle button.
    - Only updates of logged in user’s friends appeared

    Anyone know how to tweak it to make any or all of these things happen?

    Thanks!

    Great plugin… but a feature where if you go on someone’s profile that it still would display the entire site’s activity… not just the user.

    It would be cool to have the ability to show this in the admin bar or footer of the page

    @ifanatics Do you not have a BuddyPress Admin bar on your site? You could place it right below the admin bar if you really want too.. change this in the .css file.

    On the .footeractivity line change bottom:0px; to top:0px;

    If you want it below your admin bar change top to how far down you want it for example 25px. But honestly it looks bad right under the admin bar.

    If you want just friends activity do this

    Search for this in the bp-activity-bar.php

    and replace it with this

    Then to show it to only those who are logged in. Go to the bp-activity-bar.php file again. And put this:

    `if ( is_user_logged_in() ) {`

    right after this:

    `function add_bp_activity_footer() {`

    and then put this:

    `}`

    right after this:

    ` <?php endif;`

    I’m working on a way to open and close the bar for the next update along with something else.

    @yeggermuffin I’m not sure why it’s doing that to be honest. I’ll look into it. Might just be a limitation of BuddyPress.

    @xberserker, THANKS! You are the MAN!

    Yes, I do have the admin bar disabled in my theme.

    Its almost perfect, just one more tweak that I cannot figure out. Now that it’s at the top of the page, I’m trying to get it to align right, with only about 40% width. Any suggestions on getting this done?

    Also, when more than one avatar shows up in the bar, e.g. (user1 and user2 are now friends) the text bumps up right against the second avatar. How can I increase the distance between the avatars and the text?

    @ifanatics I have not looked at any of the code for this yet but in most cases adding `margin: auto 0;` to the main container will make it auto center to the site

    @anaxent Thanks for the suggestion, but I’m actually trying to put it in the top right corner of my site. Anyone know how I could do this?

    Thanks!

    @ifanatic Could try `float:right;` and see what happens.

    hi @xberserker,

    for me it seems that “back/previous” button does not work in new version. “next” works excellent.
    when bar displays last activity it takes some time and rotation starts from the beginning. in any case after “back/previous” button is pushed, rotation stops for some time and then goes further, not back.

    thanks.

    have another small question…
    do I understand correctly that at the moment author’s avatar and next/previous buttons are under one css div id=”innerbp_act”?
    design issue is that at the moment there is no any space between avatar and buttons, however group avatar after buttons goes with space, tried adding of some additional div, but my skills are not good enough and result is negative.

    @xberserker

    @janismo For some reason you have to click the back button twice to get it started, clicking it just once will do nothing. Small bug I guess. On the space between the avatar and buttons, could trying adding 2 or 3 or these after the next button `$nbsp;`

    Also make sure you clear you cache. The basic JavaScript was there for for prev/next button in the 1.2 update but was still buggy, I’ve corrected that in the 1.3 version.

    I’ve got this working almost exactly how I want it, with one more issue I can’t figure out. Hopefully there’s a solution because it’s a make or break on using the plugin for my site.

    As stated before, I’m using the bar on the TOP of my site instead of the bottom. As the bar loads when clicking onto a page, for about 1-2 seconds it shows all of the updates in a list that streams down the page below the bar, until it has fully loaded and then works normally. Is there a fix for this? I have this problem in firefox and opera but (surprisingly) not internet explorer on my machine.

    Thanks!

    @ifanatics Great, can you post your full CSS that your using to make it all appear at the top? I could included that as FAQ for others. I’ll be busy this weekend, but I’ll be thinking how to get around that loading issue.
