sort search by review

    Hi @boonebgorges,

    Do have any ideas how to add rating as a value for the sort order of search results?
    For sure it’s not going to be as easy as just sticking in the select value in the index.php… though I haven’t found any clues where to change any other code regarding the filter.

    Hi GooseNL. Unfortunately, given the way that the group and activity filters currently work, there is no good way to do this (without rebuilding the entire query class in your own plugin). I’m hoping that there will be filters on the queries in the next version of BP (and in fact I just opened a ticket to that end http://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2774). When there are, it should be possible for me to modify the plugin in such a way that you can do the sort of sorting you’re talking about. At the very least, it would allow you to sort by modifying the ORDER BY clause yourself.

    Guess I’ll just have to wait for a bit then… seeing my coding skills (for now) are not up to rebuilding the entire class myself.
