spaces in username causing problems

I actually thought this was a missing page problem but it seems to be an error based on the space in my username. When I go to “edit profile” it says “page missing”. When I put the %20 where it should be, it pulls up fine.

Has anyone found a fix / workaround for this?

http://coffee2code.com/wp-plugins/restrict-usernames/ has support for BuddyPress
I have not checked it yet with WP 3.3 though.

I was hoping to not do this. This would break my Social Connect and in my opinion makes usernames unfriendly

That doesn’t seem to be working…

If it helps at all, when you go to click on the link the url correctly inputs the %20 where it needs to be, but the browser loads without it. (all browsers)

Example (sorry for bump, I just wanted to be clearer)

When you highlight the link for “Profile > Edit” it shows like this:
http: sitename.com/members/User%20Name/profile/edit/

but when you click the link browsers load:
http: sitename.com/members/UserName/profile/edit/
