Strange characters when order by members or groups

Iam runing BuddyPress 1.5.1 in WordPress 3.2.1
DataBase MySQL
Database Charset UTF-8
Database Collation utf8_unicode_ci
Site Language pt_PT
URL: http://hortinet.info/

When i order for example my members in alphabetical order or other strange characters appear.

For example the phrase:
Informação técnica do sector hortofrutícola
changes to
InformaÃ§Ã£o tÃ©cnica do sector hortofrutÃÂcola

Upon refreshing the pages everything turns back to normal

Can any one help me on this.
