Whats the plans for the day of release? I know you dont have it picked but I been waiting since the very start of this project before wordpress did that major password change last year and I had to make a new account which is not new anymore. It feels like waiting for the Olympics I know you have not been working on it for four years but it feels that way. I was thinking maybe you could do a live g+ q and a session? on the day of release to mark the official release. I dont have no record book on me but this would have to be a major mile stone for the history of wordpress for time of dev and lines of code.
Also patiently waiting 
BTW, is it going to support mobile uploads?
And you guys should consider allowing for adding tags to activity stream updates.

BP-Media is a huge project. During the past 18 months, we’ve written the same amount of code it took the WordPress team 8 years to build.

I’m sure we’ll have some sort of launch event when we release the alpha build. Google+ sounds like a cool idea.
