the_author_posts_link adds \'/blog\' where it shouldn\'t

When I try to use the_author_posts_link() within the Groups Blog plugin, it produces a link like this:

http://mysite.com/testblog/blog/author/admin/

The ‘/blog’ is not supposed to be there. I can’t figure out how it got there. I could trace it back to function get_author_permastruct() in /wp-includes/rewrite.php, but get stuck there.

What is the author permalink structure? Where is it set?

Is there a WPMU/BP version of that tag?

If I can figure this out, it may lead to a solution for this.
