I cannot find in your pot file the translation line for:

You don’t have any photos yet. Why not upload some!

    Where can I translate it?

    Thanks for support.

    Regards,
    Thorsten

    hi @per4mance

If you need to add something witch is not in the po file you can add it manually. Open the file in a text editor like notepad++.  See how the other strings are written and copy/paste the 2 strngs marked msgid “your phrase here”
msgstr “the translation here”. Save. Now you must open the file with poEdit, so the software can generate a compiled mo file.

A pot file is a kind of changelof file. A catalog. To translate something, you have to use poEdit or similar.

BP-Album is shipped with a pot file and many po/mo files in different languages.

You have to open the existing po(without T) file or to create it. Once done, you go to edit > update from a pot(with T) file. Usually a pot file is up to date and contains the lattest translatable strings.

After the update, your po file contains the added strings from the pot…..
When you save the po file, poEdit automatically save also the mo file. The mo file is a compiled version of the po. You can’t read it, but php gettext can.

It’s the mo file who ensure the translation. Po/Pot are there for human purpose and are not used by PHP gettext.

All this is also explained on the Codex.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I use poedit to translate files. But the above string is not mentioned in the po file. I openend in wordpad (notpad I get a long line) and saw that the translation is associated to php files and line numbers. So I don’t know what I’ve to do to get work it fine, you know?

Yes i know: read my previous post ! ;-)

The php files and line numbers in po and pot files are remainer for you, not for gettext…. so forget this detail.

Good to know! I’ll try it and will give you a feedback. Is notpad++ a different tool? My windows has notepad and wordpad.

    Thanks for support :-)
