Troubles setting up BuddyPress site

Hi, I wanted to setup a private BuddyPress site with a Bootstrap based theme on WP 3.8. This looked originally like simple, but actually not that much. First thing, I installed the following plugins on a base WP install : BuddyPress, BBPress, s2Member Framework (whose setup is not the simpliest). Then I looked for a theme. Ah the theme needs to be BuddyPress compliant, which greatly reduces the options. Then, the official page for themes on the BuddyPress site is empty (temporarily). Then, a blog post says BP is no more distributed with a default theme as this is evil for some reason. Great! So go in search of a theme. BB compatible bootstrap themes are not legion. I found one, named Warp, which looked cool. Tried it, was unable to make the sidebars work…

So, is what I am trying to do really so difficult? Any hints to speed up the flow? Thx.

Actually, BP is compatible with nearly all WordPress themes (and all WP default themes) since BP 1.7. Issues arise with some frameworks which do not follow basic WP templating with the_title and the_contant within the WP loop. Even so, there are solutions put forth in the BP Codex https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/theme-compatibility-1-7/
