Turn comments off on a static page

    Hi,
    I am very new to all this stuff but I don’t see where I can turn comments OFF on a static page, also how can I make a static page be my home page in the menu?

    @sallyshorseworld, answer to second question first: In the Admin Dashboard, got to Settings>Reading and select the radio button for Static Page…then select whichever page you want for the Front Page.

    Next answer, again in the Dashboard>Pages, hover over the name of the page for which you want to turn off comments, and a menu will appear. Select Quick Edit and uncheck Allow Comments. That should be it.

    When I created a page and turned the comment feature off in the top where it says, “screen options” the comments are still on. I would like this page to only display content and not have comments. How do I do this?
