Updates on latest trunk & status on Albums

I am so thrilled that Buddypress finally released v1.0 so I am ready to bring BP out to the public. About the new updates on latest trunk versions, is it ok to continue and update with trunk? Is it good idea to wait until BP release the official updates through WPMU plugin page?
How’s about the Albums to post their own photos or videos with BP? I did not find any status on Roadmap or Timeline for Albums.
Looking forward to see more themes even I will be more than happy to pay the premium theme for BP also more BP plugins! Keep up the good work
