User confusion over Group forum and announcement page.

    I’m noticing that my users seem to get confused between the functionality of the announcement tab of the group and the forum section of the group. Both allow users to post a message and receive replies.

    Personally I consider announcements as an informal shout out to the group, whereas the forum section is where more serious discussion take place. However my users don’t seem to grasp the difference very well.

    Has anyone else had similar experience? What have other people done to simplify the user’s group experience?

    I’m considering disabling the announcement section of the group altogether – does that sound reasonable?
