User management and permissions.

Can someone explain to me how Buddypress user management integrates with WordPress’s user management and permissions? The user management part of Buddy Press seems to not have been thought through very well. And, it seems that every Blog application turned CMS has this problem with managing users and the various others. I would like to be able to set permissions on a page basis, and be able to give a person, lets call him/her and Administrative Assistant, the ability to manage user information and password. But, I can’t find a way to do this that isn’t to complex.

@o4tuna the way buddypress works in regards to roles and capabilities is being worked on by the core devs, half of it will be implemented in 1.6. Trac: https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3740

Thanks for the reply. I hope 1.6 is released soon. I do appreciate the work that so many put in. WordPress is my favorite so far. The dedication and participation you all have is rare and admirable.
