User registration: Disallow for WP, Allow for BP

    I don’t want to allow anyone to register for WP. But I want to allow BP user registrations. Is there a way to achieve that?

    Alternatively, if people use WP default Registration form to register, I want them to become BBP participants by default, and if they use BP Registration form, I want them to become BP users….

    No — BuddyPress is just a WordPress plugin, so if you disable user registration, it’s off, everywhere. User accounts are shared across all plugins.

    Got it. Also, does BuddyPress create any new user roles? I was wondering if I have default role set as forum contributor, then will they be able to use Buddypress even though they are just forum contributors?

    BuddyPress doesn’t create any user roles.
