Using Group Extension API

Hello all,

Please forgive me for my ignorance.
I am building a BP app and trying to add tabs to groups (in addition to the default ones).
I created a plugin based on the (first or second) example in this link : http://codex.buddypress.org/developer/group-extension-api/
and activated it. No errors.

Does this code generate a new tab? If not, please advise how can I generate it.
