Using Groups, username-password from external system (oracle)

Hi,
We’ve got a custom CRM system build in Oracle using Portals (APEX). We’d like to include BuddyPress as a social network as part of the portals.
Users of Portals has autorisation login, rolls and connected to a group within that CRM system.
We’d like to have the same sign-on based on the roles of the CRM and connected to the same groups as in the CRM.
Does anyone know how to do this? Is the buddypress db open to insert/update username, passwords and groups from a external system?
