Xprofile Privacy plugin

    @petronic

    BuddyPress currently doesn’t support any kind of privacy control over profile data. Members of BuddyPress team are working on Privacy Component which will be part of some of the future releases, but until then this plugin can be helpful.

    Xprofile Privacy plugin will give your users option to choose which profile data they want to share. Profile data can be public, viewable only to friends or be completely private. Users can set their privacy while editing profile or within Settings section in Profile Privacy part.

    Really good temporary solution for those that don’t mind modifying the core a little bit. Good job.

    According to the recently published Buddypress roadmap (https://buddypress.org/about/roadmap/) privacy controls will be included in Version 1.2 – no date assigned yet.

    If this plugin can be expanded and refined, and if @P.S. you are willing to add to it, could this be included in core prior to 1.2?

    The roadmap blog post elluded to plugins being included in core if they were good and required. I’d love to see privacy features make it in sooner than 1.2.

    Good work so far!

    Here, Here to that ! we need it expanded & also include no access to guest like Facebook.

    ie only registered users can view members & groups, non need to register!

    I cast another “yes” vote for moving privacy controls ahead of version 1.2. Even if the first version of privacy controls is super simple. Thanks!
