With BuddyPress active when I would embed an instagram with an emoji title/description in a post the embed was broken. This only affected instagrams w/ emojis in the text.

Removing this filter fixed it for me –
remove_filter( 'the_content', 'bp_activity_at_name_filter', 10, 2 )…
