I changed line 1589 (or somewhere around there) in wp-db.php from return preg_replace( '/.*/', '', mysql_get_server_info( $this->dbh )); to return preg_replace( '/.*/', '', mysql_query("select version() as $this->dbh") );, and that error stopped. Try doing that
