the question now is what rewrite do i use to get buddypress to understand my pathinfo?? this gets better by the minute!

I have scoured the internet for answers to this and i see that i am not alone in my quest to find the reason as to why my buddypress links wont work unless you manually input “index.php” into the browser after the sitename. someone please help!
