It seems it creates processes and it doesn´t quit them.

I tested it and activated all my plugins one by one. When I activate the Buddypress plugin the server load get´s way to high.

I think the folder sitename.com/wp-content/uploads/ doesn’t have the right permissions. You should chmod them to 707 or 777. This way, Buddypress can create a “avatars” folder inside your uploads folder.
