<p>I&#8217;ve never used mqtranslate but there may be an alternative way to customise those strings. Check out the <a href="http://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/customizing/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/" rel="nofollow ugc">Customizing Labels, Messages, and URLs</a> article which shows you how to set up a language file. Hopefully that&#8217;ll help?</p>
