If you are logged in and you go to the register page, you will be redirected to home page. You have to be logged out first to reach the register page.</p>

If you have any plugins other than BuddyPress installed you may want to deactivate them all to see if the problem persists. If the redirect loop stops and works fine after that then re-activate each plugin one at a time and test to see if you can narrow down which plugin may be causing the issue.
