									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The crop only works if IE8 is set to &#8220;compatibility mode&#8221; which is a major problem for this side of the world. It looks like an issue with the jcrop script. Please let me know if you encounter any solutions.</p>

<p>I disabled all plugins and changed the theme to default. The avatar crop still didn&#8217;t work in IE8&#8230; and since the site is live I had to switch it back to my custom theme. </p>
<p>I&#8217;m almost certain this is a bug in the script and I just need a fix to get around it until Buddypress comes up with an official solution. <p>I disabled every plugin other than BuddyPress &#8211; the avatar crop still doesn&#8217;t work in IE8. Then, with only BuddyPress plugin, I switched to the default theme. It still doesn&#8217;t work.</p>
