It appears in the yellowish/orange box under the logout button immediately after they login and it has a link that reads close (which closes the message box only)</p>

4.) Yes, they allow PHP mail (it works fine until Buddypress is activated)<br />
5.) Yes, I&#8217;ve tried with all plugins off<br />
6.) It works with the default as well as any other theme, except Buddypress</p>
