You would not see the button on your own members directory listing. Have you tried creating a test user and logging in to see if the button is there? bp-custom.php should reside in <a href="http://www.your-site/wp-content/plugins" rel="nofollow ugc">http://www.your-site/wp-content/plugins</a> or if your on localhost it would be <a href="http://localhost/your-site/wp-content/plugins" rel="nofollow ugc">http://localhost/your-site/wp-content/plugins</a>. It is not in a folder like other plugins would be. It is just a php file named bp-custom.php that occupies the same directory as a plugin. Don&#8217;t you think this would throw people off? You add friends by searching the members directory. How else would one determine if they want to be friends with this other person?<br />
Answer to b) I have a plugin that will add data to the members directory.<br />

On the members directory you should see a button to the right of that member that says &#8220;Remove Friend!&#8221; If you are not friends already it would read &#8220;Add Friend.&#8221;</p>
