BuddyPress uses bbPress for its Groups&#8217; forum functionality. It&#8217;s quite possible that the patch doesn&#8217;t actually work. I suggest you write a comment on that bug and say the patch doesn&#8217;t work</p>

<p>Take a look at Brajesh&#8217;s Global Search. It has functions to return search results for forums, blogs, members, groups and site pages/posts.</p>
