<p>One of the main uses of cookies within BuddyPress is in template message display. In this case, cookies are used to store generated error or success messages and display them after the page has been reloaded.</p>
<p>If you try searching the BP code base for <code>setcookie</code>, you should find how else BP utilises cookies.</p>

<p>I don&#8217;t think a filter is appropriate in this case. Editing the templates is the best approach in my opinion.</p>
<p><code>bp_displayed_user_username()</code> will display the displayed member&#8217;s username and <code>bp_displayed_user_fullname()</code> will output the displayed member&#8217;s display name.</p>
