Okay, all is well…
I deactivated the plugins again. Made sure that I activated them in order so there would be no conflicts and everything works.
That was an easy fix. Thanks so much for your help!

First I I edited the courseware.php file but, don’t see the debug info in wp-admin. I do not know if it is related, but it is the only change I made, upgrading to the security update WP 3.0.5. I discovered that the assignments are not showing up. I can create one, add it. It shows in the list of assignments but when you click on the link nothing shows up… […]

BTW, I took the advise on changing labels, “groups” now say “articles”.

All of a sudden the assignments don’t show up… Only change is upgrade to WP3.05
I can add one but when you click on the link to an assignment nothing shows up…

Thanks for your reply, I have looked at the codex. That is helpful, especially for changing labels. But I guess my question has more to do with the specific default theme and how it works with Scholarpress. It is like the theme menus are duplicated (not the admin-bar).
