Unfortunately, the only way I can see people are changing this is by hacking the BuddyPress plugin itself, which can&#8217;t be the right way to do it. What is the proper way?</p>

Anyway, with the &#8220;Extended User Profiles&#8221; section enabled, I have users able to add things like their &#8220;bio&#8221; and &#8220;favorite things&#8221; (both fields in the base field group).
